Breastmilk and all those antobodies in it couldn't keep Jalen from getting his first cold this week. We decided at 3am this Tuesday that Daddy was going to stay home with him and get him to the Dr. I met him at the pediatricians office at 11am. The Dr. was a little concerned because Jalen was laboring to breath and his temp was 100. They sent my little guy to the hospital for some tests. After a chest x-ray and a test to see if he had a virus, he was diagnosed with just a cold. All we could do for him is keep the humidifier on full blast, spray saline up his nose, and suck all the snot out. In the meantime he has figured out how to dodge or just make it plain difficult to stick the "bugger sucker" up his nose and suck all the bads out. This has made it a little bit more difficult for dad and I to keep him comfortable and able to breath. Every little peep he makes Ty and I are alert, up and ready to make sure he is okay and still breathing. Jalen hasn't figured out that he can open his mouth and breath out of his mouth rather than his nostrils :). His mouth is only being used to cough up phlem and eat.
One part on his body that decided to take a break was his butt. It went on a three day vacation. The good news is that it finally decided to start working again and blow out of his diaper on the 3rd day. I'm sure that was a relief for him.
While we were at the Dr.'s office we found out that our little heffer is 14lbs. 12.5 ounces at 13 weeks.
